So, I’m not sure how exciting these posts are, but my son (who is 6,000 miles from home) asks me every week when I am going to post my pictures of the day. I have even been including some of his photos from his trip. Unfortunately his camera was stolen last week, so he was pretty bummed about that. He’ll be home in 3 more weeks and we are very excited about that!
Project Life – Week 4
Project Life: Week 3
Don’t they say after 28 days of doing something, it will be a new habit and you will stick with it? Well, so far I have stuck with my picture of the day, my daily bible reading, and going to the gym. So it should be a piece of cake from here on out, right? If only it was that easy. Have a great weekend everybody!
Meet the “O” Family
Fruitland, Idaho Family Photographer
Okay, all together now . . . Awwwwwwwe. Isn’t that the cutest thing? I just love this family. I did Nick’s senior pictures a while back and I finally got to photograph all the kids. The older boys were so sweet with the little kids – and they were such troopers. It seemed like it was going to be a nice day, but the wind was so cold.

Project Life – Week 2
Woohoo! It’s the 18th and I have taken 18 pictures so far! Only 347 more to go ;o)
Winter Mini Session
Weiser, Idaho Family Photographer
This was seriously a 15-20 minute session! It was cold AND rainy. You might remember Alton, from his senior pictures. Well, his older brother, Anthony, was getting ready to deploy to Afghanistan so their mom wanted to get a few nice pictures. We also snuck grandma in for a few. What a sweet family . . . and please keep Anthony in your prayers along with all of the young men & women who bravely serve our country and keep us safe.
Project Life – Week 1 1/2
Wow, I have been such a bad blogger over the last couple of months! I have a hard time, when I’m not super busy with client sessions, to figure out what to write about. Since I mentioned Project Life in my last post, I thought I would show you the project so far. I have to say, it has been really fun taking a picture a day. I also have to admit, it is going to get REALLY hard to come up with ideas down the road. Thank goodness we are busy and have a lot of things planned this year, so that will help! I’m usually not great at journaling (can you see a trend, here?) but so far it has been easy to think of things to write. As I’m putting this album together, I’m thinking about my grandchildren looking at it (many, many, many years from now) and being able to peek into life in 2010, so that has guided me in my picture taking & journaling. I will try to post my layouts everyweek, just for fun, but I’m not making any promises ;o) This time of year it is easy to find the time, I just hope I will keep it a top priority when life gets out of control busy. Have a great weekend!
The reason I started on Dec 30th (in case you were wondering), is because I want my full page spreads to include Sunday – Saturday, so in order to do that, I started on Wednesday, December 30th. The page on the left of this is going to have a picture of each member of our family and then in the journaling slots, I am going to do a little bit about us . . . age, hobbies, favorites, etc. – not finished with that yet.

New Year’s Resolutions
Well, it’s that time of year – time to start thinking about what you want to change or do better in 2010. One thing I have totally neglected since taking on my photograpy business is my family’s scrapbooks. So, I drug everything out over the weekend and you should see my downstairs! I was going to post a picture, but decided there is NOOOOO way I would let you see my disaster area! lol!
I love, love, love looking back through scrapbooks, but to be honest, I hate, hate, hate the mess. I will finish my kids’ scrapbooks, because it would just drive me crazy to not finish them. I like consistency. I was looking on-line for a simpler method for future scrapbooks and found something so cool. I have loved Becky Higgins simple layout designs for a long time and when I checked out her blog, I was pleasantly surprised. Her new project is called Project Life and I am really excited to start. The idea is take a picture a day to tell your life story. At first I thought I would purchase it and use it just for my normal family scrapbooks: holidays, vacations, etc. But I have 20 years of those kind of scrapbooks, so I am going to take the Project 365 challenge: take a photo a day and journal about it. I am going to try to capture the little details of everyday life. I am captivated by family history and I cannot imagine how amazing it would be to have something like this from my grandparents or even my parents when I was growing up.
So, check it out and if you are up to the challenge I would love to hear from you!
Last Session of 2009!
Parma, Idaho Family Photographer
I ventured over to Parma last weekend to photograph this great family. One thing about winter sessions – they are REALLY FAST!!! When it is 30 degrees outside, there is no messin’ around.
)

I love this one – especially since grandpa was in the window behind me doing something that was very funny . . .
Meet Josie & Ellie
Weiser, Idaho Newborn Photographer
To say it was a challenge to photograph these two cuties, would be an understatement ;o) But it was so nice to get to spend time with them and their parents. Their mom just happens to be one of my best friends from waaaaay back when. They were such good babies, but trying to get them to sleep at the same time proved to be a little difficult. We had a brief moment when both of them were sound asleep, it just didn’t happen simultaneously. lol!

Meet Paige from Weiser High
Weiser, Idaho Senior Photographer
If you have checked my blog in the last month or so, you probably remember Paige. We had a great fall session and her mom opted for a second session to just focus on some fun/silly stuff to really capture her personality. We did a mini Trash The Dress session. Yes, it was November, it was freezing, and Paige was sitting in that stream! There were no stunt doubles for this shot! lol! She was such a good sport ;o)
