One might think that because I am a photographer that I would have TONS of fabulous pictures of my son, who is graduating this year. Ummm, you would be incorrect! I was able to grab a few last summer, but Cort’s hair was so long, you can barely see his eyes. So, we have been planning all along that on spring break we would go out and have a “real” session (due to the fact that yearbook photos are due tomorrow!) We were going pretend that I am a “real” photographer, so there can’t be any complaining, back talking, eye-rolling, etc. (lol!) Unfortunately, this has been THEE most miserable week for weather. Tonight the wind was blowing and it was FAH-REEZING, but we really had no choice, so we found some places that were somewhat protected from the gale force winds, and I think we have a winner for the yearbook . . .

Cort promises me that as soons as it warms up, he will go out and do more. But with his crazy tennis schedule, we’ll see ;o)

I met Britni last fall at her Aunt Jenny’s wedding that Sonnet & I photographed, so I was excited when her mom called me to book her senior pictures. I took her & her mom on quite the little tour of Weiser. I absolutely LOVE this first shot, but it may have gotten us in a little trouble. I had my first “run-in” with the law tonight! To make a long story short, the owner of this very cool junkyard was notified by the neighbors that there were trespassers (us) and he called the sheriff, who showed up to tell us we weren’t supposed to be there. Well, I had asked permission, but it had been a couple of months ago – so, anyway – it all got sorted out and nobody got hauled off to jail )

It was great to be out shooting again! Carl & I ventured to some of my favorite places today and even found a few new spots. I just love my little hometown. I used to wish I lived someplace more lush, or bigger but actually – I’ve realized that there are so many different options and the best part is – they are so close together. Within minutes you can be in a grungy old part of town, in a wheatfield, a grove of trees, down by the river – well, you get the picture. We have lots of variety here!

I found this cool photo collage program on the internet the other day and thought it was the perfect way to show off all of my amazing 2008 clients. I know I probably should have done this in January, but honestly, I sort of go into hibernation mode in January and February to recover from the crazy fall photo season! So, anyway I just wanted to say thanks again to my cool clients – you ROCK!

I love springtime, especially when it has been a loooong winter. I actually love all of the seasons and I’m so glad to live in Idaho, where we get to witness them in all of their glory. From subzero, blizzard like conditions to triple digit temps. Well, I don’t really love those parts, but everything in between is good. As I think of springtime, I think of starting over, starting new. So, I thought it was a good time to finally move over to a fancy “schmancy” blog. I have been dragging my feet because my lil’ old blogspot blog has served me well for the last two years. It’s fun to see where I started and how far I’ve come as a photographer. So I’ll keep a link to my old blog up above in the drop down menu under “My Websites”, just in case you want to go back and check out my previous work. There are a few reasons I’m switching over to a new blog:
• It’s much easier to upload BIG pictures. With my old blog, it was quite a tedious task, the default setting was teeny, tiny little pics.
•The cool drop down menus at the top – check them out. I may even add more fun stuff down the road.
•The cool, flashy, rotating header.
• Lots more options for customization.
•And the most important reason is that these new blogs are more searchable on the web. So far, I have only taken on new clients through my awesome “old” clients’ referrals. But, I figured it was time to get more serious about marketing.

So, the most important thing for you (as blog readers) is to remember to replace your old bookmark with this new web address. And because posts are just plain boring without pictures, here are a couple of pictures of spring from yesterday. Enjoy!
